The exhibition showcases video art installations and other mediums, inviting viewers to reconsider the concept of the Mediterranean as an integral part of our culture and way of thinking. It explores the intersections, and inevitable processes of hybridization, bridging the gap between imagined pasts and potential futures. Through immersive multimedia installations, spectators are transported into a Mediterranean universe, a space where lands and seas converge and diverge, creating unique connections.

The art works depict the sea as a liminal place that brings together diverse cultures and peoples, natural phenomena and bodies through continuous transformation and interaction, serving as an inspiration for developing imagination and creativity. Also both a repository of history and an element undergoing various states, ranging from serene tranquillity to turbulent storms. This electromagnetic field is a microcosm of our modern era which represents a heterogeneous, overcoded entity, obsession, and destiny.

Opening and Performance by Lisa Boostani on November 15, 2023, 7–9 p.m.

Carrer de Josep Anselm Clavé, 31, 08002 Barcelona.
