Today was the first day of the residency, after a walk in the town we took a car and went 37 km in the center of the island to meet with artisans from Anticmallorca studio. It was a very sunny and peaceful afternoon, the studio filled with light, everything ready to start work…
Ariceli and Antonella showed me the basics of this incredible technique. It’s was very meditative to observe them working.

The smell of palm leaves, little noises of plants being weaved, their hands were moving fast. Handcraft is all about perfection

At night, we drove back to Palma, to visit the TACA exhibition center, with Es Baluard Museu d’art modern i contemporani de Palma. That was the end of the first day.
