Nocefresca
problematic: Preserving the memory of a living place and community
description: A choral and kaleidoscopic account of a small rural area on a Mediterranean island, as seen through the combined perspectives of over 40 artists who have stayed there and more than 20 residents who live there every day. 260 pages that are the result of meticulous and, above all, heartfelt work. As you flip through the pages, you’ll also find works created by artists-in-residence during Nocefresca’s first three years, many of which have never been published on our social media channels. Works that deserved to be printed on pages: large, smooth to the touch, high-quality, with texts to be read at leisure, to nourish thought and knowledge. They deserved it because the relationships forged with the creators of these works are meant to endure over time, just like the pages of this book. Just as the bonds formed with the local residents, who have gifted us with invaluable archival images and authentic reflections. The publication is bilingual (ITA-ENG) and tells, through images and words, the story of a Sardinia that is both intimate and collective at the same time.
